My Best Attempt....

So, with Thanksgiving tomorrow I started my cooking today. This is actually the first year I will be celebrating without my family. I decided to attempt to make some of the traditional items we have each year. One in particular is a bean salad that my Grandma Patsy always made. Unfortunately, she is not with us anymore and I never had learned how to make it. Don't ask me why I figured I could make it on my own. As you can see in the picture above, it turned out looking like a bowl of mush. Luckily, Jeff, my taste tester, said it was good. I don't know if he was afraid to tell me otherwise considering it took me 3 hours to prepare! Either way, those having Thanksgiving with us tomorrow have never experienced the "real" bean salad, so hopefully despite the look they may enjoy it. I also attached a new picture of the girls, since the other picture isn't so pretty to look at!

I'm sure that picture of the salad doesn't do it justice;-)

Good luck cooking and have a Happy Thanksgiving

Three hours! Oh my goodness! Well, I bet Jeff is telling the truth and it tastes great. I hope you guys have a great day today. We love you!

PS. Love the picture of the girls! Adi thinks Emerson's name is really cute. She wants to call on the video phone this weekend to talk to Rilyn.

Kimbers I'm sure it was as good as last thanksgiving. The girls are adorable (of course). Tell Jeff to wait for Christmas before he cuts his hair. All my love, grammy

Well Kimber, at least you gave it your best try. I guess you just love having me around at Thanksgiving so much that you deliberately had some trouble--thus ensuring I come (or at least Fedex kidney bean salad) next year! Hope your day was great and that it was wonderful to have the whole nuclear fam together! Love, Julie

Well Kimberly, at least you put three hours of effort into it. Clearly, you miss me so much at holidays that you deliberately "messed it up"--meaning I'll just have to come visit next year! Hope your day was great and that it was fantastic to have you, Jeff and the girls have some family time. Love always--
