Pumpkin Patch

Yes, I am still trying to catch up.....
This year we took the girls to the Pumpkin Patch and it was awesome! There was so much to do and see and Rilyn especially had a blast. Our favorite thing was the corn maze, it took about 45 minutes and Rilyn loved it because there were mailboxes throughout with puzzle pieces in them. By the end of the maze she had completed a puzzle with a picture of the whole maze on it. The whole time we let Rilyn choose which path to take, just like Dora does :). This place will definitely become a tradition for our family each year.

Rilyn took this picture of Jeff and I, she thought it was pretty funny!

Happy 1st Birthday Emerson!

So, yes, I am very late in posting birthday wishes for my Baby Girl! Happy 1st Birthday Emerson!! You are such a special little girl to your Daddy and Me. We couldn't imagine our lives with another baby when we only had Rilyn, and now we can't imagine our lives without you. You are truly a blessing from God. You bring a smile to everyone's face just with your toothy grin. It is hard to believe you have already been part of our lives for a year now, it still seems like you just arrived. You are so different from your sister in so many ways. You are our little adventurer, no fear of anything! Climbing is one of your favorite things to do, and every time you get on top of something, you make sure that someone is noticing. You took your first few steps at 10 months and now we can't keep up with you, walking is your primary mode of transportation. You have almost all your baby teeth already, which is pretty crazy! You are a great sleeper, and can sleep pretty much anywhere. You have more nicknames then anyone I know (most of which came from your sister): NeeNee, BooBoo, Boo Boo Bear, NuNu, Emmy, and just Bear, which fits you best since you growl all the time. You do have a hard time entertaining yourself, you always want to be held. You could care less about tv, books and car trips. You love anything your sister plays with, although she gets upset when you "mess up" her stuff. You and Rilyn make eachother laugh, which is my absolute favorite thing to watch. You are beautiful and sweet and your Dada and I love you so!! Happy Birthday Baby Girl, please don't grow up too fast!

Where To Begin?

Luckily I have kept up with taking pictures lately, but haven't found the time to blog. I am going to try my best to catch up with everything that has been going on with us lately between Emerson's Birthday, our visit to the Pumpkin Patch and Halloween.
With the weather supposed to be cooling down (although it actually isn't), Jeff and Rilyn have been working in the yard together on re-seeding the grass and planting new flowers. Rilyn really enjoys this time with her Daddy and I know he loves it just as much!

E is still a little too young to help out, but she sure is styling in her shades! Fun with boxes has been an ongoing theme around our house these days, from train rides to hiding spots.

Not only is Emerson a walker now, but she is a climber, which is even worse. Anything and everything we find her on top of, from step stools to our night stand and of course in the dryer or dishwasher. You can't take your eyes off her!

With the boxes we have had around and the kids couch, she has figured out how to push things around to get to places to climb up to. The scariest thing is when she figures out a way onto the couch since she doesn't understand that falling off onto the tile floor is dangerous. Oh, my little adventurer.

Our New Little Friend

Recently, our neighbor temporarily "adopted" a cute little dog named Oxford. From the first moment Rilyn heard this new little neighbor bark, she was obsessed! Everyday she begs for her friend "Oscar" (I don't think she understood his name was Oxford) to come and play. Most nights when I have been at work, Oxford has been over playing/entertaining the girls. We definitely have grown attached to our new little friend. Just last night Rilyn told me how wonderful Oscar is and how she wants to keep him FOREVER! The greatest part is that each night we get to take him back home after the girls are asleep.
Oxford is such a trooper, he lets Rilyn tote him all around with no complaints. Also, they now have a nightly ritual of playing chase through the house, it is pretty cute and we love seeing how happy he makes the girls!

A Little Of Everything....

GO COWBOYS!! Here is Jeff doing what he does best with his two biggest fans next to him. I don't think it could get much better than this for him.
I know I have mentioned this in previous posts but it still continues to amaze me how both girls sleep like their Dada. I absolutely can not have anything covering my face while I sleep, Jeff on the other hand has to have something over his face. As you can see both girls have followed in his footsteps.....
Rilyn, not only facing the wrong direction, has pillows covering her face and body!

What I saw when I looked back to see if Emerson had fallen asleep yet.

We had a fun day on Saturday going to our friend, Maya's birthday party. Pudding painting in the park, it doesn't get better than that for a bunch of 3-4 year olds.

Emerson enjoying the grass and kids running around.
Everyday Emerson is getting into something, and by the way, she is walking now! There is no taking our eyes off her, she is definitely more adventurous than Rilyn ever was.

Rilyn breaking it down for us. She is all about shaking her booty lately, it is hilarious and we both question each other on where she learned her moves. ;)

2009 Inman-Lobosky Olympics

For the last 33 years my family has been best friends with the Inman family. We grew up taking our family vacations together and over the last 7 years we have started a tradition of competing, family against family in an "Olympics". Each year we take turns hosting the event and picking what we will compete in. We are very competitive and take this very serious! :) This year was the Inman's turn to host again and we met at their lake house in Grand Lake, CO. It was beautiful and the tone was set upon arrival with our banner hanging outside their home.

Remember I mentioned that we take this very serious.....

Arriving at Columbine Lake after a quick flight over to Colorado.
Right from the moment we got there, Jeff and Rilyn were out on the dock fishing.

Within an hour Rilyn had caught her 1st fish, it was so exciting for us all! Too bad this wasn't one of the Olympic events.

Rilyn enjoying canoeing with Nana and Granny Franny. My mom couldn't believe Rilyn never stopped paddling once.
The girls were determined to see some moose while we were there, besides the Elk, fish and other wildlife.

Low and behold one afternoon, we looked out to see a moose swimming across the lake right out our back door! It's amazing how big the moose are.

The much anticipated events this year included frisbee golf, ladderball, bowling, an everything goes relay and apples-to-apples. The only thing that is always an event each year is bowling and besides that it's a surprise what the rest of the events will be until announced during our opening ceremonies.

While we were playing frisbee golf the girls got to take horseback rides and go see some more animals.

Here is another example of how serious we take this......
Emerson was a trooper throughout the whole weekend. Here she cheered along while watching us bowl from the sidelines.

Rilyn got a couple turns at bowling and did great, she got 9 down with her first ball! Can you tell she was a little excited?

Finally, the last example of how serious we take this, our awards ceremony, complete with metals and the oh, so coveted trophy!

Unfortunately, the trophy doesn't get to come home with us again this year. Don't worry though, there is always next year!!

And last, an early birthday celebration.......
